Milan, November 2021 - In recent days Chiron, independent producer of renewable energy that develops, builds and manages state-of-the-art energy plants and infrastructures with very low environmental impact, with the technical and design support of Solux Engineering, an engineering and consulting company, has completed the permitting process for the construction of 6 utility scale photovoltaic plants located in Northern Italy for a total capacity of 25 MW.
The common goal is to contribute actively to the energy transition, considering sustainability as the driving force behind a process of continuous improvement and the essential principle of responsible economic and social development. Once the plants become operational in 2022, they will produce 100% renewable energy, avoiding the emission of approximately 9,500 tons of C02 per year.
Paolo Pesaresi, CEO of Chiron Energy commented: "We are thrilled to announce this important achievement. Chiron continues its investment in the domestic renewable energy market, especially in solar energy, actively contributing to the energy transition of our Country and its decarbonization. We are therefore delighted to have finalized this further important transaction adding this asset portfolio to our pipeline. We are very proud of the fact that most of these plants will be located in non-agricultural areas, which are often degraded and abandoned. All this in a logic of "energy regeneration" of marginal areas avoiding as much as possible the agricultural land consumption."
"Although the existing environmental regulatory framework don’t always promote the renewable energy sources, these permits obtained in less than a year are a clear demonstration that careful planning, communication and high-level engineering are essential to minimize the risk of failure and to obtain reduced times to the authorization procedure. We have been a true team player, supporting our client at every stage of the project. Considering that currently in Italy only 10% of the authorization processes are concluded within the year, reaching the 100% objective is a reason of great satisfaction" - adds Gabriele Nitrati, CEO of Solux - "The collaboration with an reliable player with its values so better aligned with ours, allow us to accelerate this process and quickly reach our common goals".
